Ideas about TGM

I want to play the role of Amanda to show the family conflicts. The scenes that will be played are the dinner scene at the beginning of the book and the fight between Tom and Amanda at the last part of the book. In the scenes, Amanda should show that she is the head of the household by using her loudness of her voice, her demands to others and her sarcastic voice. Tom and Amanda will stand at the opposite and Laura is like in the middle of them; she will try to comfort both her brother and her mom. I wonder how Tom feels when Amanda talks about her early life with 17 gentlemen callers. 

Another character I want to act is Tom. Scenes will be the dinner scenes, and the last scene that he left his house. I want to know the typical feeling of him when he left his house. I guess in order to show the conflict between him and Amanda, when he listened about his mom's life on Blue Mountain, it should show disdain on his face. When Amanda asked him to eat slower, he should show that he is impatient.
